The ICAME XI 2026 Organizing Committee (Faculty of Economics and Business, Hasanuddin University) values and is committed to protecting the privacy of every participant, author, and visitor to this website (hereinafter referred to as “User”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data during the registration, paper submission, and payment process on icame.events.unhas.ac.id.

1. Data We Collect

During the registration and payment process, we may collect the following data:

  • Identity data: full name, title, institutional affiliation, country of origin
  • Contact data: email address, phone/WhatsApp number, correspondence address
  • Academic data: paper title, abstract, full manuscript, related publication history for submission
  • Transaction data: selected registration category, proof of payment, transaction status (payment card/account details are processed by the payment gateway provider and are not stored directly by the committee)
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, and website activity logs for system security purposes

2. Purpose of Data Use

The data collected is used to:

  • Process participant registration and payment verification
  • Manage the paper submission and review process
  • Send information related to the conference (schedule, letter of acceptance, certificates, invitations)
  • Administer publication of proceedings and partner journals
  • Communicate regarding questions or technical issues raised by participants

3. Sharing Data with Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. Data may be shared on a limited basis with:

  • Payment gateway providers, to process transactions
  • Proceedings/journal publishing partners (for example, for WoS/Scopus indexing purposes), limited to approved and published papers
  • The co-host institution (UKM Qatar), to the extent necessary for joint event coordination

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of data transmission over the internet is entirely risk-free, so you are advised to keep your own login credentials confidential.

5. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to or a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of any inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal data, noting that this may affect an ongoing registration/submission process

6. Data Retention

Participant data will be retained for as long as necessary for conference administration and publication purposes, and to fulfill the institution’s academic archiving obligations.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated through this page.
